Re:Claim is a student-led community platform designed to support the reporting and recovery of lost and found items for the WVSU community.

• Photos uploaded for missing or found items
• Recovery confirmation actions, and

• Interaction events (i.e., button clicks)

• Locations, and
• Browser environments (i.e., Chrome, Firefox)

How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

• Display missing and found item listings
• Help users search, filter, and sort listings

Public Visibility of Listings

Information in item posts are visible to other users, including:

• Item category tags

• Date and time lost/found
• Contact information

  • Contact details
    • Mobile phone number
    • Social media link/s

This visibility is intentional so that users can identify and recover items more easily. Please do not submit sensitive information unless it is necessary for the listing.

Data Storage

Information submitted to Re:Claim is stored solely within the system for platform operation, reporting, and recovery coordination.

We do not sell user data.

We do not share user data with third-party providers, except when necessary for the platform to function or when required by law, if applicable.

Third-Party Links and Services

Re:Claim may contain links to external services, such as social media profiles or other references shared by users.

Please note that external websites and services are not controlled by Re:Claim, and their own privacy practices may apply once you leave our platform.

Data Retention

We keep item listings and account information only as long as needed to support the platform's purpose, maintain records, or comply with applicable requests or requirements.

We may remove or archive listings that are outdated, inaccurate, or no longer needed.

We take reasonable steps to protect information stored in the system. However, no online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are encouraged to submit only the information necessary for the item report and to use caution when sharing personal details.

Users may request:

• Removal of a listing
• Deletion or deactivation of an account, subject to system limitations, or

Children's Privacy

Re:Claim is intended for use by students and members of the WVSU Main Campus. If the platform is used by minors (below the age of 18), any submission should be done with appropriate guidance and only as allowed by school or community policy.
